As applicable, manage and distribute incoming email communication from seven zonal email boxes. Specifically, the Technical Claims Specialist will be expected to: - Investigate, negotiate and settle claims
- Direct field investigations as required for exposure and within account guidelines parameters.
- Make initial contact as per account guidelines.
- Report to client as per account guidelines.
- Identify liability exposures, recommend reserves, recommend investigation required for exposure, prepare action plans, and negotiate settlements
- Provide high level of customer service to clients and the insured.
Drawing on their experience and expertise in adjusting claims and understanding handling processes, the successful candidate also supports adjusting peers through: - Providing guidance and direction to adjusting peers on claims handling strategies and issue resolution.
- Supervising back up and support as required (providing support to the team, approve reserves and payments.)
- Assisting with the training and development of staff on accounts specific processes.
- Assisting with the resolution of claims issues / escalations.
- Providing secondary resource and contact for clients.
Qualifications and Experience: - University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance is nice to have.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- CIP designation or working towards designation.
- Adjuster’s license or have completed a minimum of the below 4 CIP courses:
- C11: Principles and Practice of Insurance
- C12: Insurance on Property
- C13: Insurance Against Liability—Part 1
- C14: Automobile Insurance—Part 1
- C110: Essentials of Loss Adjusting (Nice to have)
- Equivalency in combination of education and experience will be considered.
